About


The Dunedin Archery Club is located in Chingford Park, North East Valley. Access to the club rooms and shooting range is from Afton Terrace.


We are the oldest archery club in New Zealand, and you can read more under our history section.


We are also a registered Non-profit & charity, so all donations are welcome!

Club & Ground Rules


  1. Wear close-toed shoes
  2. Tie any loose hair back
  3. No baggy clothing to be worn on the line
  4. Remove any facial & nipple piercings that could get caught
  5. If there is shooting, please follow signs and range directions and walk behind the archers
  6. Please follow all directions of the range captain/director of shooting (DoS)


We are primarily a target focused club, which means we have additional limitations:

Shooting & Equipment Rules


  • No bow to be over 60 Lb in draw weight
  • No crossbow to be over 95 Lb in draw weight
  • Crossbow to shoot on the dedicated pinex target only
  • no self-supplied targets, you must use DAC ones
  • If you are new to the club, but not the sport, a coach will assess you and induct you through our safety protocols


These are also rules enforced by the Dunedin City Council, and are a part of the health and safety plan that was submitted.
